What affects the dew point?
The effects of reaching the dew point are made worse by a build-up of water vapour within our homes which is produced by every day activities such as cooking, bathing, showering etc. Today’s energy saving measures such as, double glazing, cavity wall insulation, loft insulation and draft proofing have resulted in tightly sealed homes with little natural ventilation so the moisture created by these activities cannot escape.
Effective home ventilation will remove excess moisture. Also, if possible dry clothes outside and try to avoid drying them on radiators. Keeping a window open while you are cooking is also a great idea.
